Day 24 - Christmas Eve

It is Christmas Eve. Tonight, the world always has an expectant hush about it. It holds its breath. Tomorrow is the day... He came to earth, born a baby, laid in a manger. He came to fulfill the purpose of His Father and from the moment He was born, that is what He did.

Beautiful. Perfect. Savior.

That expectant hush...

Silent Night
The music we know so well: Stille Nacht, Franz Gruber (1787-1863)
The lyrics we love so dearly: Joseph Mohr (1792-1849)

Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin mother and Child,
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heav'nly peace,
Sleep in heav'nly peace.

Silent night! Holy night!

Shepherd's quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heav'n afar,
Heav'nly hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night! Holy night!

Son of God, love's pure light,
Radiant beams from thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
