I'm a New Jersey born Washingtonian who is over 40, living life with my amazing husband, two sons and one wonderful dog. One son is out of the home, on his own and one son is still at home. I work full time and spend my free time (outside of work/non-family time) volunteering - at the Everett Gospel Mission, with Proverbs 31:20 Ministry and also combatting human trafficking.
To learn how you can get involved combatting trafficking, hop on over to my other blog, Fight4Freedom and see what you can do. Trafficking does happen in your town. In your neighborhood. It is the 2nd largest global crime having recently passed arms dealing. It is 2nd to drugs. People are bought and sold on a daily basis, sometimes for as little as $2.00. It is a horrific evil. You can do so much, even when you think you can do nothing.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, having accepted Him as my Savior 8 years ago. This after growing up in the church and rejecting God figuring I knew better than He did what was best for me. Foolish mortal... I have since learned, quite the hard way, that I am a sinner, a wretch who, without the saving grace of Jesus Christ, is completely lost. Learning that and living that brings me more joy than I could ever put into words here. It is rarely easy but it is always joyful and He is perfect. I trust Him with my life, no matter what He brings to it. He has never disappointed me and while people change, the world changes, circumstances change, etc. He does not. He is and always will be exactly the same and stays faithful. I pray that I always bring glory to Him and reflect His nature to the world. When I mess that up, I am so grateful He forgives me when I repent. What an incredible God I serve.
My life verse (is actually two): Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. ~Proverbs 31:8-9
