Strombolli!!!!!!

Anyone who has met me has heard my pining for a good-ol'-worth-the-eating-east-coast strombolli.

I've been out here for 20 years without stumbling across one.

A friend of mine told me about #1 NY Pizza a few months ago only I haven't had a chance to get over there when they're open.

It has taken me that long to find THE place...

And they close for the month of August.

So...on July 31st I had the BEST strombolli I've ever had.
What's in the box there is 1/2 of Aaron's & 1/2 of mine. We couldn't eat the whole thing. Strombolli for lunch AND for dinner!!! Ohhhhh yeah, baby!

And I have to wait another month to have a follow-up...

Oh the irony.

HOWEVER... the first chance I get after September 1st (probably will be September 4th!), I'm headed to Hwy. 9 in Clearview. I'm going to spend some quality time with strombolli and a couple of true New Yorkers.

Tony & Relita Ventura.

Do you SEE this canolli? Sorry if it's blurry. The place is small and a bit dark. My camera wasn't anywhere near as enthralled as I was. But I digress - the canolli... Oh my word... it was so incredibly yummy.

This place is a little expensive, I'll warn you BUT...they order most of their ingredients from New York (The sausage? Unlike anything you'd buy out here!) and they make everything by hand, on the premises.

In addition to that you get wonderful conversation with Relita. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Tony but I hear he's a real kick. Not a "pull punches be all diplomatic kind of guy" if you know what I mean.

I can't wait to meet him.

If you're in the Clearview area, check them out. Technically their address is Snohomish but....Clearview. 180th to Hwy. 9, turn left & it's the first little building on your right, just after the gas station. Can't miss it.

I'm still dreaming about that strombolli...

How fun! I'm so glad you found it...now you can just dream of it for a month. :D

We have a place here that serves NY style pizza and is our favorite place to eat pizza. They serve stromboli, too, but we haven't been able to tear ourselves away from the pizza any time we've gone there, so I don't know if it's as good as yours was. We'll just have to go back and find out. : )
